8 Day Bali Tour

After arrival at Bali airport (alternatively pickup at your hotel in South Bali) you will be transferred to Ubud. Rest of day at your free disposal. Overnight in Ubud.

Your guide will pick you up early in the morning and you start your trip driving through the beautiful landscape of centre Bali to Tampaksiring where you visit the temple Pura Tirta Empul. This is one of the temples which have pools of very clean spring water. Until now there are holy rituals of washing and cleaning the body. People from all over Bali come here to take a bath in this holy water (Panjoran). Continue by visiting the Elephant Cave Goa Gajah. This cave includes a temple as well, which was used long time ago by Brahman priests for meditation. Upon return to Ubud you are going to visit Ubud Royal palace with its well-preserved Balinese architecture and its charming garden settings.

Your sightseeing day ends with a visit at the traditional market of Ubud, where a lot of activities are going on. Your guide will show and explain to you about all kind of exotic spices, fruits and much more. Return to hotel and overnight in Ubud.

Free at leisure at your hotel or choose from a wide range of optional tours. Central East-Bali is close by, and is a treasure trove of historic sites and natural wonders. Even closer to Ubud are options such as APV-rides, guided bicycle tours or famous Taro Elephant Safari Park.

After two full sightseeing days, we suggest you to keep the morning free for short-term flexible decisions, such as a shopping spree for artwork at the many artisan shops and galleries dotted all over Ubud, or maybe an optional mountain bike tour (guided or unguided). Feel free to choose from a wide selection of prebookable tours for Ubud and surroundings. Just 15 minutes outside the city centre, Ubud shows its well-preserved rural charme. After checkout we take you to nearby Sudi Dance School, where you can watch the delightful scene of groups of young girls from the age of 5 and up learning and practicing classical Balinese dances; this offers particularly nice foto motifs.

After approx. 2 hours, you will continue towards the East Coast of Bali, with a stop on the way at Tihingan village, where you can see the production of gongs and gamelan instruments. Late afternoon arrival at your hotel in Candidasa.

Your hotel is the perfect tranquil spot for a beach- and relaxation day, before the next sightseeing days. It offers the only white sandy bathing beach all along the coastline, no strong currents and even a small house reef for good snorkelling. Just bask in the sun and listen to the sound of the waves.

After breakfast continue further along the east coast until you reach the village of Selat, where you will marvel over the unbelievable beauty of its paddy fields. We will take you along nice landscapes to the biggest temple of Bali, Besakih. It has 40 turrets and a beautiful view of the impressing volcano Gunung Agung.

Continue to the highland town of Kintamani, which is on the border of the Volcano Penulisan. There you will have a really beautiful panorama view of the crater (12 km diameter) and a fantastic view on the volcano Mt. Batur (2.200 m high) which is still active and has a nickname, called Gunung Lebah (mountain in the deep). Before continuing all the way to Lovina on the North coast, you will visit the mythic temple Pura Beji. By continuing the trip you will use the mountain road and can enjoy the fascinating and always changing landscape there. Arrival in Lovina and overnight.

After breakfast a short (approx. 30 minutes) drive takes you to Sambangan village, in the idyllic rolling hills which form the hinterland of Lovina. Here is your starting point of todays 4 hour guided hiking program. We start from the bridge of Cengana and walk along terraced rice fields, while observing the farmers at work. We will also pass bey one of the magnificent waterfalls in these beautifull side valleys. After having crossed the bamboo bridge, the light trek continues alongside many plantations, where the villagers grow jackfruit, mangosteens, pineapple, rambutan, clove, coffee, cocoa and spices. At the first stopover at Bantenan village you will have a panoramic view all over Singaraja. We are visiting a local farmer’s house, where you will sample some fruit in season, such as freshly cut cocoa fruit. Sample the delicious flesh, covering the actual cocoa bean, as well as a cup of home-grown coffee with the villagers over some chit chat about their work, daily life and family routines. Refreshed you will enjoy the next hiking portion (2 hours) with its adventure touch, downhill through rugged, wild terrain with dense tropical vegetation, and hardly any tourist around! You will finally reach Secret Garden on the river banks, with its roaring and impressive 20 m high waterfall, and the river underneath of it forming a large natural pool, which offers a magnificently refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters. Time to relax and marvel over the wonderful nature- setting, before a short hike takes you back to Shanti Natural hotel, where you will have lunch with a breathtaking valley view on waterfalls and deep ravines. Transfer back to your hotel in Lovina. Rest of day free at leisure.

In the morning check-out from your hotel in Lovina. We will continue the trip to the mountain area of Bedugul at the Bratan lake, which is actually a crater filled by freshwater. There you will visit the temple Pura Ulun Danu placed at the water 5 m from the shore of the lake. Continue your way to visit the state temple of king dynasty Gelgel, Pura Taman Ayun, at the idyllic village of Mengwi. The highlight of the day and conclusion of today’s program is the sea temple Tanah Lot, which is placed on a rock, approx. 200 m from the sea-shore.

Upon sunset you will join a wonderful moment with a great view of the temple. After this, you will be transferred to your beach hotel in south Bali or straight to the airport.
