Wuzhizhou Island

Water sports enthusiasts of all ages should consider a visit to Wuzhizhou Island. This area is the perfect place to indulge in virtually every type of water activity and challenge the mesmerising and ever-changing sea. In addition, over 20 ethnic groups, including Hui, Miao, Li and Han inhabit the area, making it a marvelous region in which to appreciate China’s many cultures.

Binglanggu Li and Miao Cultural Heritage Park

Situated directly between Baoting County and downtown Sanya City is a pleasant and picturesque park called Betelnut Valley. Also referred to as the Hainan Binglanggu Li and Miao Cultural Heritage Park, the area features thousands of betel trees and boasts a lush, tropical landscape. It is considered a living fossil and is a must-see for outdoor lovers who plan to visit Sanya.

Nanshan Temple and Park

Constructed in 1998 and home to an enormous statue of Guanyin–a Goddess of Mercy–the Nanshan Temple and Park deserves a spot on any holidaymaker’s itinerary. The park has several intriguing sections, including an area where guests can participate in the ringing of monastery bells. Additionally, the surrounding countryside is almost as interesting as the park itself and offers visitors unique photo opportunities.

Hainan Province is famous for Haianese chicken and rice and Wenchang chicken, and these dishes are a must-try. Vendors markets and shopping emporiums of all sizes are found in Sanya, from street stalls to large department stores and hotel boutiques. Local shopping centres are typically situated near scenic spots, such as Tianya Haijiao and Dadonghai. In the city’s centre, the main shopping districts are business pedestrian streets like Hongqi Street and Jiefang Road.

In almost any Sanya shopping area visitors can find locally-designed apparel, handicrafts and a wide variety of spices. Shoppers can also buy special merchandise such as dried tropical fruit, candies, carved coconut handicrafts, coral, crystal ware, pearls and jewellery.

Best Time To Visit

The average temperature in Sanya is approximately 26°C, and visitors can expect year-round sunshine. Temperatures hover around 25°C even in January and rise to an average of 30°C in the heart of summer. Although Sanya is a year-round holiday destination, peak season starts in October and continues until the beginning of April.
