Q: Can I relax on the beach and swimming pools during Ramadan? A. Yes. Pools and beaches in Dubai and at Jebel Ali International Hotels remain open throughout Ramadan.
Q. Are non-Muslims required to fast as well? A. No. Non-Muslims do not have to fast and can still enjoy the culinary creations served during breakfast, lunch and dinner in indoor restaurants. Guests are simply asked to be respectful to those who are observing the fast and restaurants in public areas are usually enclosed with light curtains to this extent.
Q. What about smoking or chewing gum? A. Smoking and chewing gum are acceptable as long as they are not in view of those observing the fast, which means the exclusion of public areas during daylight hours.
Q. Is alcohol available during Ramadan? A. Yes. Alcohol is available in the hotel restaurants and bars after sunset (approximately 7:30pm). Hotels will not serve alcohol between 5am and 7.30pm; however Non-Muslim guests are welcome to use their in-room mini-bar.
Q. Are there any restrictions in attire? A. Although Jebel Ali International Hotels does not have any Ramadan-specific dress code, it is usually expected of guests and visitors to be properly attired without excessive show of skin during this period as a sign of respect to local custom and tradition.
