About Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is the world's fastest growing airline. Etihad Airways is the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates. Etihad is based in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE and operates services to the Middle East, Europe, Indian subcontinent, North America, Far East and Oceania.
Etihad Airways was established as the federal airline of the United Arab Emirates in July 2003 by a royal decree, issued by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Etihad Airways currently flies to 43 destinations worldwide, and aims to fly to 70 destinations by 2010. The Etihad Airways fleet consists of 38 aircraft as of December 21, 2007.
Etihad Classes
Etihad has three travel classes, First class is called Diamond Zone, business class is named Pearl Zone and economy class Coral Zone. Pearl Zone and Coral Zone are available on all of Etihad's aircraft, whereas Diamond Zone is only fitted on select aircraft depending on the routes served by individual planes. Personal LCD screens are fitted as standard in all classes.
Pearl Zone is all about personal service and attention to detail. To ensure the highest possible degree of both, Etihad assigns dedicated members of the Inflight Cabin Crew to its travellers.

Etihad Premium Lounge:
Elegant, exclusive and exceptionally welcoming, the lounge reflects Etihad's aim of providing unparalleled hospitality in a relaxing, fresh and modern environment.
Situated on the first floor of the airport, the lounge is comfortable and spacious, offering all the privacy you may need to work on your laptop, enjoy a range of audio and video entertainment or simply relax. There's also a separate section for ladies.
The lounge is amply equipped with laptop connections, high-speed Internet access, and fax and telephone facilities. you are welcome to use the airport's gym and shower facilities.
There's also a fine selection of refreshments and hot and cold buffet dishes to pamper yourself with.
In-Flight Entertainment
For in-flight entertainment, Etihad uses an AVOD (audio-video on demand) system on its new long-range aircraft. Furthermore, newer additions to the fleet, as well as some retro-fitted older planes, feature a Plug-And-Play system, which works on USB technology, that allow passengers to play their own audio and video media. Some aircraft have in-flight telephony.
On our new fleet of aircraft fitted with the state-of-the-art audio-video-on-demand (AVOD) system, you have over 500 hours of world-class entertainment. Enjoy a wide selection of movies, television and audio programmes, or select a CD from our extensive audio library.
You can even create your own personal entertainment programme, or while away the time with any of the 29 games featured on these aircraft. We have placed the controls in your hands. Start, stop, fast forward or rewind as you wish.
If you are on an aircraft with personal television, you can, depending on the aircraft type, enjoy between 6 and 21 channels of video entertainment and between 8 and 11 audio channels.
On our new fleet of aircraft you will experience big-screen excitement with our LCD screens — with 23” screens in the Diamond Zone, 15” screens in the Pearl Zone and 10.4” screens in the Coral Zone, we have the largest video screens amongst comparable cabins in the industry.
